At the Grafton Group YOU are who we fight for!
What's the one thing that you know you're meant to do but have not started yet? You may not know the entire path but you can take the first step!
Our March Charity Highlight is the Generosity::Feeds
Did you know that 17% of children in Loudoun County struggle with hunger?
Generosity Feeds is a charity that was started right here in Loudoun County, but it has now grown to helping communities across the United States to help fight childhood hunger.
That's why a portion of every loan closed with the Grafton Group in the month of March will be going to this incredible charity that makes a difference in the lives of so many families.
Generosity Feeds, thanks for all the love you pour into our great community!
Another reason why we love our community:
Did you know that this past weekend at Loudoun County High School, over 800 volunteers packed over 20,000 meals for children in our community who struggle with hunger?
This all happened through our Charity of the Month: Generosity::Feeds

A huge congratulations to Sean and Kelly for closing on their new home!
They said this about closing with the Grafton Group:
"As a working mother and father of 2 young children, buying a new home can be stressful. Caryn and her team made the entire process extremely easy via the document portal, e-sign process, and their willingness to answer any and all questions. Thanks to Atlantic Coast Mortgage, this was the least stressful process of purchasing a new home!"
Sean and Kelly, enjoy your home! It was an absolute honor for us to be a part of this incredible moment in your lives.
Are you crazy enough to believe that you can be a world changer?

Historic Buildings of Our Community for the month of February:
The Pope-Leighey House
Originally built in Falls Church now in Alexandria
This month's historic building was designed by famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright, known for his work with Falling Water and the Guggenheim Museum.
In 1939, Loren Pope, a 28 year old journalist approached Frank Lloyd Wright about designing a house for him and his family. In his letter to the architect he said, "only you can create one that will become for us a home."
A few weeks later Frank Lloyd Wright replied with "Dear Loren, of course I’m ready to give you a house. Signed Frank Lloyd Wright."
Now that Loren Pope had the architect he just needed a loan. This actually proved to be way more difficult then he could have ever imagined. Multiple banks turned him down, one even claiming that this house would be a "white elephant."
Thankfully the newspaper that Pope had worked for began a program where they would lend money to their employees to build houses in the area. The house ended up being built in Falls Church, VA for around $7000.
Frank Lloyd Wright designed this 1200 sq. ft. home with simplicity in mind. He designed small bedrooms with visions of a family all being able to be together around the fireplace.
Eventually the Pope's sold the house in 1943 to the Leighey's for $17,000. In 1964, news spread that the Pope-Leighey house was in danger of being demolished due to the rerouting of Route 66. Marjorie Leighey, a year after her husband's death, made certain that this historic house would be preserved by donating it to The National Trust for Historic Preservation who ended up moving the house to the Woodlawn Plantation in Alexandria, VA.
The Grafton Group loves the rich history of our community!
The Pope-Leighey house is open to the public. Tours start back up on March 1 and tickets are $15.

Did you know that it is Congenital Heart Disease Awareness Week?
Did you know that 1 in every 100 babies is born with a congenital heart defect?
This July our dear friends Josiah and Carly, who recently closed with the Grafton Group, had a precious baby girl named Joanna (the adorable baby in the picture) who was diagnosed with Hyperplastic Left Heart Syndrome.
Today, 7 month old Joanna is at Children's Hospital for open heart surgery.
It's families like this that show how real and difficult congenital heart disease can be.
This is why this month we are so proud to be highlighting the Wholehearted Foundation.
If you would like to give financially to Wholehearted, you can go to their website here: https://www.wholeheartedfoundation.org/get-involved/
If you would like to give financially to help assist Joanna's family you can do so here: https://www.gofundme.com/wmrbv-baby-mcclure

bbemaildelivery.com It has been blisteringly cold this January. The temperature and winds make it brutal just to go from your car to your front door. Now imagine being a teenager and having to face these conditions while sleeping in a tent, rooftop, or street. That’s just one of the examples of why Mobile Hope is so ...
Closing with Caryn and Michelle
Fernando and Anjelica just closed with the Grafton Group and sent us this thank you:
"Just stopping by to send your way a BIG BIG THANK YOU for everything in this last month. All went well yesterday and we love the house. Thanks a bunch!"
What they loved about closing with the Grafton Group:
Fernando said, "As a software engineer, what I loved was the system of pre-qualification."
"We closed in 20 days thanks to the work of Michelle, Monica, and Caitlin. Another reason why we loved working with Atlantic Coast Mortgage and the Grafton Group!"
Fernando and Anjelica, thank you so much for choosing the Grafton Group! Enjoy your new home!
Our Local Business Highlight for the month of January is: King Street Oyster Bar
Located in historic downtown Leesburg & Middleburg
King Street Oyster Bar specializes in bringing fresh oysters from both the West and East Coasts of the US and Canada to the communities we call home. On any given day, they offer 10+ varieties, which we get no more than 24 hours out of water from the East Coast, and no more than 48 hours out of water from the West Coast. It’s a quality and freshness you can taste.
Their menu also offers other creative seafood dishes and American-style fare with fresh, relatable ingredients, and a $5 happy hour menu every day of the week with inventive cocktails and craft brews.
They are a member of the Shell Recycling Alliance - Instead of our shells that would be dumped in landfills, they are now recycled, cleaned and treated with baby oysters and put back in to the Chesapeake Bay. They are also 100% strawless in both locations to help eliminate plastic pollution.
King Street Oyster Bar, thank you for the excellent food that you provide and for being part of what makes our community so great!
Pre-approval is one of the key first steps in looking for a home. If that's the case, how do you get pre-approved?

Our Charity Highlight for the Month of January is: Mobile Hope
A portion of every loan that is closed by The Grafton Group in the month of January will go towards Mobile Hope!
It has been blisteringly cold this January. The temperature and winds make it brutal just to go from your car to your front door. Now imagine being a teenager and having to face these conditions while sleeping in a tent, rooftop, or street. That’s just one of the examples of why Mobile Hope is so important in our community.
What Mobile Hope does:
Mobile Hope is a charity that primarily works to support disadvantaged, precariously housed, and homeless youth 24 years and younger in Loudoun County. They offer help with clothing, hygiene, school supplies, case management, housing needs, employment, and much more!
One of the programs that Mobile Hope currently runs is called From Handcuffs to Hope. This is where their staff talks with those ages 18-24 who are in jail and will be homeless when they are released. This helps them have a much easier transition back into the community.
Going forward, one of the goals for Mobile Hope is to be able to have a residential housing complex that would serve as transitional housing for homeless youth. This would help Mobile Hope offer long term assistance for the youth in our community who are precariously housed or homeless.
How you can help:
This holiday season our community did an amazing job bringing in clothing and other donations! If you would like to join in with the great work Mobile Hope is doing, they would love to have volunteers who would be willing to help them sort through all the donations.
Be on the lookout this fall for their Harmonizing for Hope fundraiser. Last year Redskins coach, Jay Gruden and Redskins past and present such as Josh Norman, Alex Smith, Morgan Moses, Chris Cooley, and many more came out for this great karaoke event that raised $63,000!
If you would like to help by giving or volunteering please visit mobilehopeloudoun.org or call them at 703-771-1400
Mobile Hope, thank you for the love you are spreading and for being such a huge part of what makes our community so great!
