[12/03/18] Our 2019 Housing Market Outlook received a nice boost with the Federal Housing Finance Agency’s release of the increased 2019 Conforming Loan Limits. The maximum conforming loan limit for 1-unit properties will be $484,350, up from $453,100 in 2018. The high-balance limit for 1-unit properties will be $726,525, up from $679,650 in 2018 (announcement). Additionally, Chairman Powell reversed the FED’s October policy position by stating the automatic schedule of quarterly rate increases is over and they’ll have to continuously monitor, debate and counterbalance slightly weakening global growth with continued strength in the US labor market. As a result, a growing number of economists are revising downward 2019’s forecasted number of rate hikes helping some mortgage programs improve slightly.
