A "recession" does NOT equal a housing crisis.

In 3 out of the last 5 recessions, home prices actually INCREASED.

The most recent one (which most of us remember) was caused by the housing industry, which is why we saw so many issues with house values.

This is not the case at all for the recent slowdown in the economy.

Should You Skip Your Mortgage Payment?

🏠🏠Are you thinking about skipping your mortgage or rent payment?🏠🏠 ***WATCH THIS VIDEO***

If you can make the payment.....make the payment‼️

Some politicians and governors have made ignorant comments as if BANKS will let you skip payments as if they are doing us all a favor.

Be informed!!!

Do not skip your payments if you can avoid it!

It's due April 1st, just like every other month. It's late on the 15th, just like every other month. Late fees will add up and it will be reported to the credit bureaus on the 31st day, like usual...

If you don't pay it, two payments will be due May 1st and three payments will be due June 1st. If you don't have one payment now, will you have three in June? Cause you know what happens if you get to 6? There are no legit, specific measures in place to protect you!

Here are your options.

1. If you have a job and your rate is over 4 or 5% you could refinance “if it makes sense” and legally skip a payment. Why not lower your rate, extend your term and lower your payment in the process? Or get some cash-out? You may have equity in the house. If you need it, let's go get it.

2. If you don't have a job, had a reduction in income and have a genuine need, CALL YOUR LOAN SERVICER AND ASK FOR HELP! They will help where they can, but forbearance isn't always your best option.

Worried about the new FICO credit scoring model coming this summer, which may lower millions of consumers' scores? Here's a mortgage loan officer perspective: mortgage lenders probably will not adopt the new model quickly, if at all. Where the new model is implemented, consumers who consistently carry heavy debt loads will be impacted most by the change. The basics remain the same for all of us, no matter how we're scored. Pay down debts, make timely payments above the minimum, and maintain low balances (less than 30% of your limit). Keep old accounts open to preserve length of credit history, avoid new credit, and use a mix of credit types (such as credit cards and auto loans). Be a responsible human, and your credit score will thank you.
