Throwback Thursday: Feb 8, 1882

New Haven Journal and Courier article on the first meeting of the Knights of Columbus. #tbt #kofc

Join me this Thursday, January 25th at St Joseph’s Church basement to discuss Social Security, Estate Planning, and Long Term Care. Please share with your friends, it’s never too early to start planning and it’s never too late either! I’m here for all your legacy planning needs.

[12/12/17]   At this time of year we all think of charity and giving back. One of the best ways to maximize your tax deductible gift to your parish or favorite charity is with life insurance and the KOFC. A charitable gift with life insurance can be many times greater for the charity, tax free and for you the premiums could be tax deductible. If you are thinking of making a donation to a charity or your parish and are interested in maximizing the gift with life insurance please contact my office.
I would be glad to give you a free consultation.
Merry Christmas!! God Bless

[12/06/17]   Thanks to the generous support of our members and friends, we raised more than $138,000 during our KofC #GivingTuesday campaign to help Christians and those in their care in the Middle East.

This equates to almost 70 families being able to move back to their homes. Or, more than 1,970 families receiving food for an entire month. Together, we have made a difference — thank you!

[11/13/17]   I will be out of the office until November 20th. See all of you then.

[10/31/17]   Council 2531 GK Allen hosted a wonderful first degree tonight. Thanks Allen, Carmine and Steve. 11 new members!!! Open houses real;ly do work! Thanks to the degree team too.

On Saturday September 9th Knights from council 6342 will be placing 660 flags in front of Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Absecon. This flag display of 660 American flags will represent the 660 veterans who die by their own hand every month. Our purpose in creating this display is the hope that a veteran might make a different choice, that families who lost a "silently fallen" Veteran will know that their loved one is not forgotten, or that someone might be inspired to reach out to a Veteran in need.

Assumption Regional Catholic School

Which school is right for your child?

As a parent, you know that all children are not alike. Each child has his or her own special talents, interests, developmental patterns, and emotional needs. A school that is right for one may not be the best choice for another.
When you are selecting a school, ask yourself
questions such as these:
– Is the curriculum appropriate for my child’s talents and goals?
– Will the school challenge without overwhelming?
– Will my child be comfortable in the school’s environment? Will I?
– Are there opportunities for my child to pursue special interests?

[06/02/17]   Congratulations to my wife for getting Teacher Of The Year Award!!!! We are all very proud of you!

[05/17/17]   If you are a co- business owner you should know what a Buy Sell Agreement can do for you. For example, take the situation of a corporation with two equal co-shareholders whose stock is worth $100,000 each. Suppose each co-shareholder has exactly $100,000 in cash. If one businessowner dies, the other will spend all his or her available cash to purchase the deceased co-shareholder's stock. However, if a buy-sell agrrement were funded with life insurance, each co-shareholder would pay only $1,000 to $2,000 per year for the policies on both owners' lives. If one of the businessowners died after 10 years, the surviving co-shareholder would have paid only $10,000 to $20,000 for $100,000 worth of life insurance proceeds. The surviving owner would be able to purchase the deceased owner's stock and would still have his or her $100,000 in cash! If niether partner dies they can keep the cash value in the policy when they retire ,which more than likely pays back all the premiums from the policy! Nice retirement package!

[05/14/17]   Happy Mothers Day to all of the moms in our KOFC family. You are a big part of who we all are. Thank You!!!!

[05/12/17]   Worthy Brother Knights,

As field agent I have the unique ability to be able to visit and eat with many different South Jersey councils. I would like to offer my favorite councils according to food.
Breakfast - 10220 of Somers Point Hands down the best KOFC breakfast you will get. No council comes close to touching the edible delicacies one encounters at their monthly parish breakfast.
Dinner - 1778 of Millville has good stuff. A nice meal with attractive atmosphere. ( and I don't mean the Knights are attractive ) They top the list for dinner.
BBQ - 3500 of Egg Harbor City. Succulent ribs, juicy pulled pork, lolli-pop drumsticks and awesome sides. Pork Island BBQ is so good many councils are secretly scheming to transfer Jim House and steal his recipes.
Honorable mention - Has to go to my home council 6342 of Galloway and Absecon.. A hodgepodge of strange combinations. A plate of pickles next to a three day old tray of rigatoni or chicken marsala with a side of pizza and hot dogs. Yes this my seem strange but there is always food and lots of it. No one has actually died from the food as of yet. No one that we know of that is. But rest assured you will be offered plenty to eat at every meeting for 6342!!

Enjoy the weekend everyone!!!!
God Bless

The Knights of Columbus has played a significant role in World Youth Day celebrations since 1984, and this year was no different! With the help of partnering organizations, the Knights transformed Tauron Arena Kraków, one of the biggest entertainment and sports venues in Poland, into the “Mercy Centre,” welcoming more than 100,000 young pilgrims over six days for World Youth Day 2016.

[09/30/16]   I have had Knights question me as to what the Knights of Columbus does as an organization. This is a part of an article that can be found on the KOFC website. The world can be a scary place.

Addressing the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe, also known as the U.S. Helsinki Commission, the supreme knight said:

Our legislative and executive representatives need to deliver to our diplomatic and aid entities a clear and simple message: In the midst of this genocide, saving Christians — and other communities that face extinction — in Iraq and Syria is part of your mission. There is nothing unconstitutional, illegal, unethical or unprofessional about prioritizing their right to survival as communities. They are innocent victims of a genocide. If these victim communities are not receiving aid, you are not fulfilling your mission. And such action is consistent with the best of American and U.S. State Department tradition.
