Ways to help from Owatonna

Attention Trinity People and friends!

There is an urgent need for donations of food and basic living supplies for people living in neighborhoods in Minneapolis that have been damaged and disrupted by the civil unrest over the past week. Congregations in the Southeastern Minnesota Synod of the ELCA are partnering with metro synods to help provide badly needed supplies.

The need is urgent, and the need is immediate.

Trinity has been designated as one of the drop off sites for the donations of badly needed supplies. Donations are bing collected at Trinity tomorrow (Thursday) from 8am to 9pm and on Friday from 8am until noon. The supplies will be driven to the congregations in Minneapolis Friday afternoon.

Donations can be brought to the north doors of the church (on Phelps) between these hours. Please pull up to the doors, and volunteers will help to bring the donations into the building. We will maintain safe practices and social distancing.

The list of supplies that are needed include:

Shelf stable food products, such as
Cereal
Sugar
Tuna
Ramen
Mac and Cheese
Rice
Dried beans (canned or dried)
Cooking oil
Peanut butter
Chips
Snacks
Gatorade and Juice
Corn tortillas
Flour
Corn meal or masa
Canned tomatoes
Canned fruit and vegetables

Personal Care products, such as:
soap
razors
feminine hygiene products
diapers
paper towels
toilet paper
Bottles of water
Pet food

For hot food distribution (parking lot food ministry):
Brats
Hamburgers
Protein that is not pork
Brat buns
Hamburger buns
Single serving chips
Single serving juice boxes
Charcoal
Lighter fluid
