Ways to help from Owatonna
Attention Trinity People and friends!
There is an urgent need for donations of food and basic living supplies for people living in neighborhoods in Minneapolis that have been damaged and disrupted by the civil unrest over the past week. Congregations in the Southeastern Minnesota Synod of the ELCA are partnering with metro synods to help provide badly needed supplies.
The need is urgent, and the need is immediate.
Trinity has been designated as one of the drop off sites for the donations of badly needed supplies. Donations are bing collected at Trinity tomorrow (Thursday) from 8am to 9pm and on Friday from 8am until noon. The supplies will be driven to the congregations in Minneapolis Friday afternoon.
Donations can be brought to the north doors of the church (on Phelps) between these hours. Please pull up to the doors, and volunteers will help to bring the donations into the building. We will maintain safe practices and social distancing.
The list of supplies that are needed include:
Shelf stable food products, such as
Mac and Cheese
Dried beans (canned or dried)
Gatorade and Juice
Corn meal or masa
Canned fruit and vegetables
Personal Care products, such as:
feminine hygiene products
Bottles of water
For hot food distribution (parking lot food ministry):
Protein that is not pork
Single serving chips
Single serving juice boxes
Thank you for your support and for being God’s hands and feet to those in need!
PS - Please share this widely.
