The AAPG Foundation funds many educational opportunities & awards, grants & scholarships at the collegiate level supporting Earth sciences.

The AAPG Foundation was established in 1967 with the primary goal of providing a source of funding for educational, charitable and scientific objectives, benefitting the geologic profession and the general public.

The American Association of Petroleum Geologists Foundation exists to support the geosciences. We fund many educational opportunities, public outreach and various grants and scholarships at the university level. We recognize outstanding achievement in the geosciences and we assist in the dissemination of new technological information as well as the preservation of important studies, data and research. The AAPG Foundation touches thousands of people each year and is proud of our many programs, initiatives and our supporters.

Brett Carpenter, this year's Inspirational Geoscience Educator Award winner, will give a presentation at the University of Tulsa's Department of Geosciences Seminar Series on Oct. 16, starting a noon.

Carpenter is an assistant professor of geology and geophysics at the University of Oklahoma.
