[09/15/17]   Good morning- I'm sure you've heard about the data breach at Equifax. The breach affects one half of the population in the US (143 million), according to Equifax, but in reality, it affects everyone. So what should you do?
There are several, fairly easy, steps you should take to protect yourself. At the very least, you can put a "credit fraud alert" on all your credit reports, This is free, but will require a phone call or internet contact with each of the bureaus. This alert will expire every 90 days, but can be added again at the end of each 90 day period. There are more comprehensive measures that you can take with the credit bureas that do charge a small fee. To find out more, ask when you contact the bureas for an explanantion of your options.
Additionally, you can set up alerts on your credit cards to send you an email or text every time your card is used. I have personally found this most helpful, and have caught several attemps to use my card "in progress" with this strategy.
Finally, you should order a free copy of your credit report and review it for accuracy.
If you know of additional measures that have worked for you, please feel free to share them in your reposnses below.
Thanks and be safe,
David

[08/08/17]   Good news!!
As of lunch today, we are back in the office. Our building passed the structural engineer's inspection, and we have power! Our office had no damage. We will operate under normal business hours starting tomorrow. Thanks to all who called to check on us. You'll never know how much that means to Patti and me.
Our clients, friends, and colleagues are the best! Thank you!

[08/07/17]   So, it turns out that since we have no power at the office, I am unable to forward the phones or change the voice mail. If you call the office, please leave a message as I will be checking message periodically. Thank you!

[08/06/17]   Good Sunday afternoon-
Our office building was hit by the 41st St tornado last night. Consequently, pending a structural engineer's formal inspection and a resumption of power, scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, the physical office will be closed.
I will have the phones forwarded, so please call my office phone number if you need anything. For trade assistance, you may also call the home office in St. Louis. I apologize for the inconvenience and will strive to get up and running normally as quickly as possible.
Best, David McCollum, AAMS
