Our Story
Established in 2002, by Founder and Executive Director, Larry J. Laws, Sr., First Home Alliance is a HUD-approved nonprofit 501 (c)(3) housing counseling agency dedicated to increasing sustainable homeownership and financial capabilities among low-moderate income and military veteran communities. Mr. Laws was inspired to start the nonprofit by his mother, who became a first-time homebuyer at the age of 65. She qualified for the USDA 504 program after receiving education from a community service organization. After she became a homeowner she was encouraged to give back by becoming a foster grandparent. She assisted and encouraged youth in the community to completed High School and GED Programs.
Mr. Laws vision is to enhance individual's ability to work toward self-sufficiency by promoting financial empowerment and ownership to become an integral element of communities that thrive.
